Happy Father's Day!

...to the best husband in the whole world.  Olivia and I love you very much!  :-)

I'd like to say it's been the perfect day, but alas... we've spent much of today trying to get Olivia calm, happy, and napping.  We went to "the river" yesterday and had a good time, but came home with a feverish baby.  Here are some river pics:

'I don't know about this, Dad...'

'Well, I guess if Grandma thinks it's okay, it could be good.'  :-)

'Mmm... I love this funnel!'

Splash splash!

All in all, she did great in the baby pool!  (The pool is a puffer fish, by the way... it was by far the coolest pool we found and it even has a little sprinkler that I'm sure Olivia will love when she gets older!).  We think she'll be a super water baby!  We start "Mommy & Me" swim class this coming Tuesday... exciting!  :-)

Neal and Casee ready for boating!

Hi Jimmy/Daddy!  :-)
I wonder if you'll be able to float, Livviesaur...
(This is proof that Daddy can!)

Will you be a wakeboarder?  ;-)

Today, for Father's Day... Livvie and I made Daddy a nice little book (like the one they made for me for Mother's Day!).  :-)  We also had a nice breakfast and a little stroller ride.  Well, Livvie had the stroller ride.  Poor baby.  We're hoping she kicks the fever and feels better soon!

Eating REAL banana!

Checking out some nature with Daddy...

Sad, sick baby.  See the tears?  :-(

Happy Father's Day, also to BOTH of Olivia's fabulous Grandpas!

Daddy's Home!

Yay!  We are both pretty excited!  In preparation for Daddy coming home today, Livvie inspected and chewed all of her dinosaurs:

At dinner tonight she seemed to actually enjoy the green puffs and some little bits of avocado.  :-)

You missed one, Livvie!
Oh, and she went RIGHT to sleep for Daddy tonight.  Guess who's earned himself bedtime duty this weekend?!  Hehe.

Rhinoceroses SNORT and SNUFF :-)

Night #2 of Livvie's Operation Fight Sleep is in full swing... she's either growing or teething.  I'm not sure which.  Maybe both?  Teething is my hunch.  Not too much I can do, unfortunately... she's already chewing on everything in sight.  Plus, she has this new thing where she wants to sleep on her belly but I think she can't get comfortable as quickly.  *sigh*

In good news, she was fine this morning when she woke up.  No red splotches.  Nothing out of the ordinary.  Just a happy baby who wanted to play!

We tried green beans today:

'There are green beans on my lip.  Please get them off.'

We also had some green puffs for lunch and these are a few of the faces I got in response:

'I wonder if I like this...'

(...and baby is asleep! *whew*)

I thought this was a cute picture of her reaching for the little frog/lizard thing on her jumperoo:

She loves that thing!  It's so funny when she gets jumping she flails about.  Here's a little video for you!

We also read a few books tonight and I think she about summed up how she felt about The Very Hungry Caterpillar when she took it after every page I read and shut it.

So much for that!
She thoroughly enjoyed Moo, Baa, La La La!, though!  We read it twice and she smiled, babbled, and looked at each page.  :-)  She'll be a reader yet!

Good Night!

Omg.

Olivia is down for the count, but not without a battle tonight!  I'm not sure what's going on with her, but she has been fighting sleep for the past two hours.  Grandma Joyce watched her for a while earlier so that I could have a little time minus baby and make some baby food.  Thanks G-ma!

Green beans!

Carrots!

Asparagus!

When I picked her up, she looked all red and splotchy and was giving me the sleepy look.  She actually cried the whole way home until we turned into our development... and then she fell asleep.

Fantastic.

Think we could work on that timing, miss?  She napped in her carseat for a while and then started crying... and wouldn't stop!  I fed her, changed her, bathed her, played with her... and meanwhile the whole time she's rubbing her eyes like she's sleepy.  Every time I'd lay her down, though, she'd start crying again.  Poor baby.  So, something's up but I'm not sure exactly what.  Maybe teeth?  Who knows?  :-(

To leave things on a positive note, I took this picture earlier today... it looks like she's spying a dinosaur!  I think Daddy would like that.  :-)

Here's wishing us all a good night's sleep!

'Don't eat me, Olivia!'

Bah, I hate when Jimmy travels.  Time goes reeeeeeeeally slowly.  I even did a bunch of things today!  First, I went to Stroller Strides this morning with Olivia (and loved it!).  I met some nice moms and got to talk about baby things with others who are in the midst of baby things.  :-)  Plus, got some exercise in the meantime.

Then, I got this baby home, fed her, changed her, played with her:

Oh, and napped.

I think I tuckered her out, too.  Being in the stroller always seems to put her to sleep, but then she chewed on just about everything when we got home:

She tried to get my foot!

...but got hers instead.  ;-)
I like how she has a look of disgust after putting most toys in her mouth... yet they just keep going in there again and again.  I think Crinkle (the dragon) is her favorite by far.  However, this nice cold teething ring seemed to do the trick for a while... as all of the animals lay to the side.  Doesn't look so good, does it?

Here's a little video of Livvie scooting herself backward, sort of.  By the time she gets to the other side of the room, she's usually upset!

She was also doing this fabulous trick where she was up on her hands and toes!  In this particular picture, she had scooted herself backward to the couch and couldn't go any further and then was up on her hands and toes, half upset and half surprised, I think.

We read a few books tonight, but this was her favorite.  It's a little penguin finger puppet that I was making wiggle all around and all Livvie wanted to do was get that penguin to her mouth!

'Don't eat me, Olivia!'
Oh, it's so fun taking lots of pictures of that cutie.  :-)

We did get to Skype with Daddy tonight, but it's just not the same.  Come home, Jimmy!  We miss you!  <3

I'm Whally Cute!

It's true, this is one "whally" cute kiddo.  Just thought I'd share some fun pictures!  :-)  (Yes, those are little whales on her dress.)

Olivia is rolling all over the place now and doing this scoot backward thing while in crawling position.  She gets her hands up and pushes herself the wrong way.  I'm not sure exactly when she'll start moving forward... but I think going backward frustrates her because she always ends up sad!  :-(

A little out-of-focus, but what a cutie!

'What?  I'm just chewing on a rattle...'

Happy baby!  :-)  I love this one!  She's such a good girl!

Finger Foods and Limey

Finger foods scare me!  Yes, they most certainly do.  I have maybe a somewhat irrational fear of Livvie choking on something, which has led me to not introduce any sort of finger food until yesterday.  I got some tips on what to start her with, so hopefully my fear will be eased as she practices gumming things down.

Introducing the banana puff!
Olivia was enthralled to finally have something to pick up and put into her mouth that tasted good!   You know, not a fuzzy animal, blanket, tag, or rattle...  it was pretty stinkin' cute to watch.

By tonight, she's a complete expert on the puffs... we got some organic ones to try that are veggie-flavored.  So far, they are a hit!  :-)

Oatmeal is also a hit!  ...maybe because it has banana in it, too.  Livvie likes banana.  :-)
Here are a few more cute pictures I took this weekend... the first official weekend of summer, by the way.  I'm SUPER excited to be spending it with this girl:

Sleepy girl on a hot, hot day...

'Thanks for the elephant, Auntie Danyelle!'  (This is the second time she's fallen asleep holding onto it.)

Trying to undo her seatbelt and buckle in the car... uh oh.

Giving Daddy snuggles before he goes away on a work trip this week... yuck!  :-(

One last video for now... that is my fuzzy marionette, Limey, that I got from the Kite Loft in Ocean City when I was in high school.  (I may have gone through a phase of being obsessed with fuzzy marionettes--I might have 5 of them!)  Jimmy said he bought a kite from the Kite Loft, but he wishes he'd gotten one of these instead.  I think Livvie thought we were crazy.  She's probably right!  ;-)

Until next time...
