Avocado and Banana

*sings* I like to eat, eat, eat... avocado and banana... I like to eat, eat, eat... avocado and banana...

I think this might be the first time I'm blogging in this new format.  Yeah... what's that all about Blogger?  I liked the old format!

Ah well, that's not what I'm hear for anyway... I'm here to fill you in on what's new.  It seems like so much changes from week to week.  Livvie is now eating avocado.  We're hoping that someday she'll be a fan of guacamole (that will make dinnertime so much easier when she gets older!).  :-)

However, do you see that pitiful look she gave when she saw that Daddy got to eat pizza.  "Where's my pizza?" she says.  Hehehe.

She's also eating banana now!  She tried it for the first time tonight... and LOVED it.  Her first fruit!  Hopefully she'll still eat all the veggies we've been feeding her because our freezer is full of them.  Haha.  There is literally zero banana on that bib because she gobbled up every bite:

"Wait, where's the rest of the banana?"

Om nom nom.

Baby holding her own bottle!
(Not the most flattering pic... sorry Livvie!)

Wiggly Olivia sitting up!  We could NOT get a non-blurry picture because she was so wobbly...
but she had some good sitting up going on tonight!  She just needed a few gentle nudges from Mom
when she started to topple over.  :-)
Can you believe it's the end of April already?  She's going to be 6 months old on Friday!  Yikes!

Zucchini and Nature

This morning I cooked up some zucchini for Olivia... it was a hit!  :-)

"What are you feeding me, Mom?"

"Hey, I think I like it!"

Zucchini face!  ;-)
We thought it was supposed to be all cold and rainy today.  Instead, it was actually warm and sunny!  We decided to go on a little adventure to Harford Glen and go exploring/hiking.  Here are some pictures from our trip:

Daddy and Livvie seeing some nature!

Otter!
Within the first five minutes of getting there, we saw an otter, two frogs, and a snake (eesh!).  Once I saw the snake, I was a little less excited to be there... though Jimmy actually seemed more excited (if that's possible!).  We also saw a zillion tadpoles and some GIANT geese.

Below is a video of Jimmy trying to catch one of the frogs we saw.  I'm not sure what his plan was if he actually caught the frog...

Frog, before he hopped away...

 Lilypads...

"Nature Alissa"

Cutie baby foot...

Peekaboo to the sleepy baby!  :-)

Olivia had quite a good snooze as we wandered all around.  I was a little jealous that I couldn't be carried and snooze while seeing nature.  Haha.  She's got the life!

Below is one more video... I took it this afternoon.  You can really see how strong this baby is getting!  She's so good at pushing herself up on her arms now and she can push herself around and round in a circle.  Yay!  :-)

Master of the Roll and Flop

You should add a comment if you're visiting this blog!  :-)  I really have no other way of knowing if you're out there... is anyone out there?

This baby would like to know:

That baby slept for 11 hours last night!  She's quite the good sleeper anyway (at least for now) and usually sleeps for about 9 hours.  That means that around 3:30 in the morning, I woke up wondering if she was okay!  I sneaked into her room and took a peek at her little sleepy face to make sure she was alright.  Breathing, check.  Peaceful, check.  Okay, back to bed.  *sigh*  She really shouldn't change her sleeping patterns on me... it's nerve-wracking.

Jimmy and I got up and played with her this morning since neither one of us really saw her awake much yesterday!  :-(

She was sooooo much fun to watch today!  Livvie must have needed some serious sleep.  She woke up happy, smiling, and ready for rolling.  She rolled from back to belly to back to belly over and over and over again.  What fun!  She's getting so strong!  I think she's finally earned her title 'Master of the Roll and Flop' (that's what Jim and I have been calling her for forever now!).  Or, maybe just 5 1/2 months.  :-)

I got a video of her doing it tonight:

It's so funny how she can push herself up on her arms now.  She can actually spin herself around in a circle by pushing off.  :-)

Go, Livvie, go!  ...just not too fast yet, please.  We haven't babyproofed yet.  Ahhh!  We need more time!  Haha.

Peas, Please!

Livvie's food repetoire now includes squash, sweet potatoes, rice cereal, and peas!

"I think I'll just chew on this buckle..."

"Daddy, what are you feeding me?  It's so green!"

Pea face!

"How about you keep putting more of those in my mouth?"
So far, so good.  The peas were a hit!  :-)  She's so funny when we try new foods.  She'll start off with the 'I-don't-know-about-this' crinkle of the nose which turns into her little baby bird mouth that opens for more each time you take the spoon away!

What a good little eater.

In other news, I didn't realize how good all of these vegetables are for you.  I've been learning a lot about veggies as we feed them to Olivia.  Here's what's great about them:

Squash- supports development of eyes, lungs, and heart
Sweet potato- good source of vitamins A, C, B-6, and E, supports the growth of healthy bones and teeth
Rice cereal- great for energy and development of a healthy nervous system
Peas- good sources of vitamins K, B-6, and folic acid, good for growing bones, brains, and hearts

Next on the agenda is zucchini.  :-)

My Little Bunny :-)

Boy the time goes fast.  I keep meaning to post and then not having time... it's like I'm busy or something.  Ugh.  The following are some I-think-I-have-the-cutest-baby-in-the-whole-wide-world pictures.  Can you blame me?

My little snugglebunny.  :-)

Rock star!  Thanks for the shades, Auntie Danyelle!  :-)

Trying out my new Ergo carrier... LOVE.

I was love love loving Spring Break.  It was quite sad to go back to school and leave Livvie at daycare again.  :-(  It has not been easy to find any sort of balance between work and home... any suggestions?

Let's just say I'm very much looking forward to summer break.  *sigh*

Now for some Easter pictures:

We of course prepared for Easter by dressing Olivia in a bunny hat... oh, and reading to her about dinosaurs.  ;-)  (She'll probably dislike both bunnies and dinosaurs!)

We spent a lovely weekend at the Maley G-parents house.  This is how Olivia prepared to sleep through church.  A little bottle snack.  Yep, she mostly slept through church.  It was a little dicey toward the end, but she made it!

Bottle snack!
After church, we had to get some big floofy dress pictures... I didn't buy that big floofy dress for chewing purposes alone.  Although, that's mostly what she did with the dress.  It was super soggy in only a few hours.

Livvie with Grandma Joyce and Grandpa Ed :-)

Livvie with her Great-Grandparents (The Maleys!)

Group shot... I'm holding Livvie's hand to attempt to prevent her from chewing on the dress...

...to no avail.
She may be teething a little bit.  Or just exploring.  I hear both things cause babies to put everything in their mouths.  It's no wonder they are like little puzzles.

*whew* No more floofy dress.  Livvie hanging out with Daddy.  :-)

Check this out... apparently Olivia LOVES rice cereal when fed by Cousin-Aunt Megan.  :-)

Sleepy baby and her little Easter bunny from Mommy and Daddy.

...and for perhaps my favorite picture from the day...

Taken by Cousin-Aunt Megan ;-)
I hope you had a nice Easter, too!  :-)

Happy 5 Month Birthday!

5 months already!?  The time is just flying!

Today's been a pretty good day so far *knock on wood*.  We started off with an early bottle with Daddy before he went to work and then a nice nap with Mommy (yay!).  Then, we took some cutie pictures:

"Please, just don't make me wear those shoes anymore!"  Haha, she kicked them off several times during the little photo shoot... but they were just so cute!

Omg, I love that baby!

After the photo shoot, I figured I'd better change her out of that outfit (it's her backup Easter outfit in case the big poofy one I got her a) doesn't fit because baby sizes are ridiculous or b) gets destroyed by baby spit up).  Boy I hope that poofy dress still fits her!  :-)  Anyway, we changed and then tried some fresh squash that I made in the awesome Baby Bullet that Grandpa Barry got her...

This baby has been sooooooooo hungry the past few days!  I think she's going through a growth spurt and teething at the same time, which is making her quite the enigma.  It's a good thing she's cute.

Squash face!

She was seriously staring the little container down... I'd move it around and her eyes would dart after it.  I'm not sure if she really loves squash or is just keeping an eye on it to make sure I'm not trying to trick her into something.  (I did add some rice cereal on the sly... so maybe she's right to keep an eye on it.)  ;-)

Love you, baby!  Happy 5 Month Birthday!  <3
