Oh boy, are you in for a treat! I took roughly a bazillion pictures this past weekend with our new little Kodak Playsport (Thank you Selina and Micah!)... I say it's new because we may have just opened it. It's pretty awesome, though. ;-)
We went to Deep Creek Lake for Memorial Day and took Olivia swimming for the first time in the cold, cold lake! (Thank you Suzanne for the cute, cute baby outfit!)

That reminds me! Livvie discovered how to suck on her toes on Saturday! It's pretty much adorable. She'll just reach down, grab her tootsies, and shove them right in her mouth! Hehe.

I've been reading too many baby forum questions lately. There are all kinds of posts that people put up with questions about when to start using sippy cups, when to start finger foods, what solid foods to start with, when baby should be sitting up, and the list goes on and on. I get nervous that I'm not doing the right things for Olivia because I just don't know certain things about babies. I'm learning as I go.
I just have to remember that she doesn't know any differently.
I'm a little overly anxious, probably, about feeding her anything she could potentially choke on! So, if she only eats pureed fruits and veggies for now, she won't be missing anything. I'm not really in any rush for her to grow faster than she's already doing. It's just amazing how much philosophies on raising a baby can differ.
Anyway, Livvie tried a sippy cup for the first time this weekend and I think it freaked her out. :-)

Half the time, she didn't even feel the need to hold the cup. Hehe. Then, she started munching on the highchair straps instead. 'I'm so bored, Mom!'
For good measure, we then tried the other sippy cup I got her... this one has a straw.

She did, however, hold her own bottle today and actually drink from it! I set it in her lap and she picked it up and drank... she's figuring things out. :-)
I really shouldn't wait so long between posts! Then I feel like I have to catch up. Livvie's eating apple now... and also getting it all over her little face. On another note, zucchini is no longer on the menu. She keeps spitting it out/up like crazy!

We have such a happy baby. :-) Except for when she's sick, which has been all too often lately. She had a fever with her 6 month shots and I raced home from work one day to pick her up and then she just napped and smiled all day at me. I think she just wanted Mommy home with her. Hehe. I love that little smile to pieces. She's absolutely amazing and is growing so much every day. I could watch her for hours...

So, it was also Mother's Day last Sunday... it has a whole new meaning now. Obviously. It was kind of nice though, mainly because there was an awesome reason to celebrate it. See below:

Livvie and Jimmy got me flowers, made me a breakfast of bacon (haha), and the awesome card below. I couldn't ask for a better daughter or husband. I love you both! <3 <3 <3
The jellyfish are Livvie and Jimmy's handprints and the flounder is painted with Livvie feet! :-) So creative! The flounder even has little footprint scales... hehe.
On another note, I hope everyone had a Happy Mother's Day! (If you're a momma, anyway...)
Just a quick blog tonight... I'm hoping to go soak in the tub and read before bed tonight. Pretty excited about it. ;-)
Here's what the cutie baby is up to this week. Basically, she's sitting up now in a wobbly state most of the time. She's starting to be able to straighten herself out and balance more and more each day, which is kind of fascinating to watch! Today I had the bright idea to put her in the boppy. Duh! Can you tell I'm a total newbie at this?
No worries though, this is what Jimmy wanted to do with the boppy. ;-)
Livvie sat in it all peacefully for quite a while! I just put a bunch of toys in front of her and she started exploring them. She particularly enjoyed her "taggie" blanket today. She was getting her little fingers twisted around the tags, chewing on the soft part of the blanket, and loving every minute of it. All 20 of them. I swear she sat there for 20 minutes chewing on the thing! Perfectly content, too!
Hopefully sometime this week I'll get a chance to upload some more video clips that I took this weekend. You'll have to check back for them, though. Here's one! :-)
She's also discovered herself in the mirror. Livvie would look at herself before, but not really interact with the baby in there! :-) Now she'll smile, coo, and try to touch the "other baby". Super cute!

I did steal plenty of snuggles from Livvie when I got home (and she woke up from her nap)... we took a video of her sitting up all wobbly, but I'll post it later when I have a chance. It's truly amazing how much she changes each week. :-)
